Records obtained via the Mormon Genealogical Database indicate my paternal great great grandfather Isaac Cowick married a descendent of James Fraser of Lovat (daughter of a male heir to a Valentine). Researching the names now. My great great grandfather and his brother appear were Pennsylvania land owners and on the rosters of Union troops in the Civil War. Ironically, I discovered many descendents of my great great grandfather's brother living within 30 miles of my home in Charlotte, NC. My paternal ancestral surname Cowick has also been traced to the far northeastern corner of present-day England and in Exeter. Name has been spelled also as Couick and Cuwick on old documents.
