My maiden name was Simpson and all my paternal ancestors were from Scotland. My late father was an active member of the Clan Fraser of Lovat here in Southern California for many years and a piper in the Caledonia Pipe Band. My 7th great grandfather was William Fraser ( 1710 ) from Aberdeenshire. My 6th great grandfather was named Alexander Fraser ( 1729 ) and my 5th great grandfather was named John Fraser ( 1750 ). John's daughter Margaret ( 1773 ) was my 4th great grandmother, was born in Kirkhill, Inverness-shire and she married into the Simpson line.
