Married to an Aitken with children, my great grandmother was widowed after the war. She then later met and had children with a veteran from the Simpson clan; one of these being my grandfather. The name Aitken was then given to these children in order for the family to keep receiving war payments.
After having children himself my grandfather and grandmother migrated to Fremantle Australia where I live today.
