my great grandfather emigrated from the Orkneys to Owen Sound Ontario Canada 1880^s, he had 2 sons and a daughter,
The sons fought in ww1, my great uncle gave the ultimate sacrifice on Nov 6/18, my grandfather died in 1956, my parents visited kirkwall in the 80s, I have some family still there but lost touch with them and those that moved off the Orkney.
My father died in 2013.
