My father, John Gordon Fraser, descended from Frasers from Inverness who emigrated to Quebec, Canada, in the early 1800’s. Dad was in the Canadian Merchant Marine, carrying oil from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Great Britain, during WW II. He saved seven American servicemen who were in a plane that crashed into the ocean in the Queen Charlotte Islands. He served his country as a Provincial Court Judge, was a proud Fraser, and played the bagpipes. His father, James Herbert Fraser, served overseas during WWI.
